Kuching, April 4, 2019 – PT HM Sampoerna Tbk. (Sampoerna) was awarded Global CSR Awards for Best Workplace Practices category at the 11th Annual Global CSR Summit and Awards 2019 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Global CSR Awards 2019 is a prestigious award program that aims to recognize and honor corporate social responsibility practices of companies in Asia, including companies’ internal practices in respecting and appreciating their employees.

This award is a strong testament of Sampoerna’s commitment in implementing people development strategies to boost employees’ potentials for sustainable business performance. Sampoerna developed such strategies through three pillars, i.e. Right Organization, Right Way of Working, and Right Culture.

Referring to those pillars, Sampoerna applied an inclusive work culture by providing equal opportunity to all employees regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, and religion. It is proven from the “Equal Salary” certificate given and validated by the Equal Salary Foundation, a non-profit independent organization, in 2018. This certificate reflects Sampoerna’s equal salary policy, for male and female employees, for doing equal work.

The Global CSR Awards 2019 shows Sampoerna’s earnest effort in developing its employees’ potential and skill through various programs in every career level. This commitment is also supported by two-way communication practices between the employees and the company, in which employees’ aspirations are collected through periodic surveys which later used as the cornerstone of various internal policies.

“Sampoerna believes that a good workplace is not only determined by good compensation and benefit policy, but also company internal practices that meet employees’ aspirations and enhance employees’ pride of working in the company. This is the main objective of the whole people development program that we have implemented,” said Keny Gungoro, Talent Acquisition Manager, PT HM Sampoerna Tbk.

Keny added that this award indicates Sampoerna’s commitment in putting employees at the heart of the company, who should be supported with as much opportunities as possible in developing themselves, for future company’s success.
