JAKARTA, 14 April 2023 - PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk. (“Sampoerna” or the “Company”/IDX: HMSP) announced changes to the composition of the Company’s Board of Directors. Based on the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (“EGMS”) resolution on 14 April 2023 in Jakarta, Sergio Colarusso was appointed as the Company's Finance Director, replacing Sharmen Karthigasu, who will subsequently serve as the Company's Strategy & Program Delivery Director.
Previously, Colarusso served as European Regional Controller at Sampoerna’s parent company, Philip Morris International (PMI), in Lausanne, Switzerland. Colarusso has over 25 years of experience in financial strategy, corporate business planning and development, budgeting, reporting, and internal auditing. Before this appointment, Colarusso played a key role in attaining various business achievements in the EU region and ensuring close collaboration with various stakeholders.
Sampoerna’s President Director Vassilis Gkatzelis said, “Sergio’s business perspective, drive for results, exposure to diverse countries and collaborative spirit, together with his broad finance experience, will make him an important addition to the Sampoerna Management Team and Board of Directors.”
Meanwhile, Gkatzelis said that Karthigasu’s rich experience in finance and planning made him the right figure to lead the Strategy & Program Delivery function to significantly contribute to the Company’s performance. “I welcome the new composition of the Board of Directors in order to maintain and improve Sampoerna’s good performance, as well as creating value for all stakeholders in a sustainable manner,” concluded Gkatzelis.
