In 2005, PMI became the majority shareholder (98%) of PT HM Sampoerna Tbk, one of Indonesia's leading tobacco companies. PT HM Sampoerna Tbk operates five cigarette manufacturing facilities in Indonesia. The main facility is located in Pandaan in East Java, which also houses the first cigarette laboratory in Indonesia to obtain the national accreditation certificate from the internationally acknowledged National Accreditation Committee. The other four are in Surabaya and Malang, East Java. |
